Fairfield, NJ - Sensor Scientific, a leading manufacturer of thermistors and custom sensing devices, has been awarded the ISO 9001 Certificate of Approval from SGS International Certification Services, Inc. (SGS ICS). Sensor Scientific is one of a very few thermistor manufacturers to achieve ISO 9001 certification.
According to Bob Brinley, Sensor Scientific's president and general manager, ISO 9001 certification is just one aspect of Sensor Scientific's formalized Total Quality Management System.
He said, "This certification marks the culmination of 21 months of intense research, planning and development in establishing quality management processes. Each process is based on 20 quality system requirements of the ISO 9001 international standard."
"This standard," Brinley explained, "encompasses our entire operation - sales, customer service, finance and credit, scheduling, purchasing, production and shipping. It has helped us improve our documentation and the way we do business - allowing us to follow a consistent level of quality in production."
"I believe", he said, "that with ISO 9001 certification we will increase our market share and worldwide presence - offering us a distinct competitive advantage in today's global temperature sensor market."
The certificate of approval, issued by SGS ICS, is accredited in the United Kingdom by the National Accreditation Council for Certification Bodies (NACCB) and in Belgium by the Dutch Council for Certification (RvC). SGS ICS, a member of the SGS Group and part of the international SGS ICS network, is recognized as a leader in ISO 9000 series registration.
